From 2018 to 2020, the market size for central heating boiler parts in the Netherlands remained relatively stable, fluctuating between USD 330 million and USD 340 million. Regulatory changes introduced in 2015, which permitted only condensing boilers, set a long-term direction for the industry, while the cessation of Atag's domestic production and its relocation to Germany altered local supply chains.

This growth was partly driven by supply chain disruptions and installation companies' refusal to supply parts, which created delays and increased demand for available components. Imports rose substantially during this period, reaching USD 344 million in 2022.

After the peak, the market contracted to USD 330 million in 2023 and USD 280 million in 2024. By 2025, the industry faced a shift towards sustainable systems like heat pumps and hybrid-ready boilers with Wi-Fi controls, innovations that began reshaping demand, while domestic boiler production continued to decline.

Following two years of decline, the Netherlands' production of central heating boiler parts rebounded. In 2021, output reached 303.8 million US dollars, representing a substantial increase of 24.0% compared to the previous year. Over the period from 2018 to 2021, production grew by 9.9%, with an average annual growth rate of 3.2%. The lowest value was recorded in 2020 at 245.0 million US dollars, while the largest decline occurred in 2019, when production fell by 6.7%.

Exports of central heating boiler parts from the Netherlands rose for the second year in a row. In 2021, export volumes reached 12 063 tonnes, showing a sharp increase of 34.7% from 2020. Between 2018 and 2021, exports grew by 9.3%, with an average annual growth rate of 3.0%. The lowest volume was recorded in 2019 at 8 941 tonnes, which also saw the largest decline of 19.0%.

From 2018 to 2021, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Italy were consistently the top destinations for exports of central heating boiler parts from the Netherlands. Germany accounted for 30.2% of exports in kind, the United Kingdom for 19.7%, and Italy for 7.9%. Together, these three countries represented 57.8% of total export flows.

After two years of decrease, the Netherlands' export value of central heating boiler parts increased. In 2021, exports amounted to 181.5 million US dollars, marking a significant rise of 21.5% compared to 2020.
