Earlier Report Observations

In 2018, Poland implemented key anti-smog regulations, including a ban on the sale of boilers below class 5 from July 1. This laid the foundation for increased demand for parts for modern boilers meeting new standards. However, in 2019, the market volume temporarily declined to $116.8 million. In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic caused component supply delays and increased demand for service and modernization of heating systems, contributing to market growth to $181 million.

Sharp growth continued in 2021 and 2022. In 2021, a ban on the use of non-class and class 1-2 boilers in some regions, as well as tightening of the EU Ecodesign directive, stimulated equipment replacement. In 2022, further bans on class 1-2 and 3-4 boilers in new buildings, along with a significant increase in heat pump installations (up 129%), boosted demand for compatible parts and components for hybrid systems. As a result, the market volume grew to $199.6 million in 2021 and peaked at $284.3 million in 2022.

After the 2022 peak, the market volume contracted to $203.1 million in 2023 and $175 million in 2024. During this period, regulatory pressure persisted, including a ban on class 5 boilers in the Silesian Voivodeship from July 2023 and the introduction of new fuel quality and labeling requirements in 2024. However, these measures did not prevent the overall decline, which may reflect a correction after the previous boom or a shift toward technologies less reliant on traditional boiler parts.
