The market for central heating boiler parts in Spain started the period at a high value of USD 89.2 million in 2018. This was supported by a labeling project for installed equipment that encouraged the replacement of old boilers with more efficient models, boosting demand for parts for modernization. However, the market declined to USD 68.6 million in 2019 as high sales of new wall-hung condensing boilers, highlighted in a sector report, reduced the immediate need for parts for existing systems. The drop continued to USD 59.4 million in 2020 with the approval of a royal decree mandating individual heat meters in buildings with central heating, which led to deferred spending on maintenance and upgrades.

A recovery occurred in 2021, with the market rising to USD 73.6 million following the publication of Royal Decree 809/2021 regulating pressure equipment and its technical instructions for boilers, which required updates to boilers and their components for safety compliance. Yet, in 2022, the market fell to USD 67.3 million as a strategic focus on electrification and the development of industrial electric boilers, alongside updated RITE regulations for energy efficiency, shifted demand toward new technologies and temporarily reduced the market for traditional parts. A sharp contraction to USD 53.4 million took place in 2023 amid public confusion about the future of gas boilers, excess inventory, and new European rules promoting hybrid systems, which collectively dampened boiler sales and consequently part demand.

In 2024, the market grew to USD 57.0 million, stimulated by the prohibition of public incentives for gas and diesel boiler installation and increased support for hybrid systems and electric boilers. The obligation to install individual metering in central heating systems by September 2024 also created a surge in demand for parts to modify existing installations, while the launch of new high-efficiency condensing boilers and connected systems catered to the transition towards decarbonization.

Spain's production of central heating boiler parts declined for the second year in a row. In 2020, output was valued at 5 849 K $ US, marking a 10.3% decrease compared to the previous year. Looking at the period from 2017 to 2020, production fell by 32.8%, with an average annual decline of 12.4%. The highest production value was recorded in 2018 at 11 594 K $ US, which saw a 33.2% increase. However, the largest drop occurred in 2019, with a 43.8% decrease.

In 2020, Spain exported 723 tonnes of central heating boiler parts, representing a 23.6% decline from the previous year. Over the 2017-2020 period, exports decreased by 22.6%, averaging an 8.2% annual reduction. The peak export volume was in 2019 at 946 tonnes, which also saw the largest increase of 17.8%.

After rising for two years, Spain's exports of central heating boiler parts declined in value. In 2020, exports totaled 9 604 K $ US, down 12.5% from 2019. Over the 2017-2020 period, exports increased by 17.2%, with an average annual growth rate of 5.4%. The highest value was recorded in 2019 at 10 978 K $ US, which also saw the largest increase of 17.2%.
