The import and export of bread in Bosnia and Herzegovina showed consistent growth from 2018 to 2025. Import volume increased from 11 667 t to 20 752 t, while its value rose from $33.8 million to $84.0 million. Exports also expanded, from 3 894 t to 8 883 t in volume and from $7.1 million to $21.3 million in value, with the most pronounced rises occurring after 2021.

Bread exports from Bosnia and Herzegovina have increased for the second year in a row. In 2021, the export volume reached 4 768 tonnes, marking a significant 20.3% gain compared to the previous year. From 2018 to 2021, Croatia, Serbia, and Denmark were the main destinations for bread exports from Bosnia and Herzegovina, together accounting for 61.6% of total exports in kind. Croatia led with 36.3%, followed by Serbia at 16.6%, and Denmark at 8.7%.
