The market for beef, sheep and goat fat in Uzbekistan demonstrated growth after a temporary decline in 2019. From 2018 to 2023, market volume increased from 41 102 t to 43 442 t, primarily due to state support for livestock farming and an increase in animal herd numbers.

This growth was supported by several measures, including the reduction of import duties on cattle and meat in 2018, which facilitated access to breeding stock. In 2019, a project for an agro-industrial cluster for 10 thousand head of cattle was launched, aimed at boosting production. In 2020, despite Kazakhstan's ban on cattle exports, farmers found alternative import sources, and the domestic herd continued to grow. In subsequent years, the increase in cattle and small ruminant numbers, along with state incentives such as compensation for livestock imports and loans for cluster development, contributed to a steady rise in fat production.

By 2023, the cattle herd reached 13.555 thousand head, and meat production, and consequently fat production, continued to grow. The signing of a decree on livestock development with financial support measures reinforced this trend.
