ECOWAS has seen its aubergine production increase for the third year in a row. In 2020, the region produced 1 149 thousand tonnes of aubergines, marking a moderate 4.2% rise compared to 2019. From 2017 to 2020, Belarus dominated ECOWAS's aubergine exports in volume, accounting for 89.3% of the total. The remaining share was distributed among numerous countries, each with relatively small individual portions.
