The highest production level was recorded in 2019 at 32 042 tonnes, which also saw the largest annual increase of 6.5%.

Caribbean aubergine production value increased for the second consecutive year. In 2020, the output was valued at 24 508 thousand US dollars, marking a significant year-on-year gain of 18.9%. From 2017 to 2020, production value grew by 14.5%, with a compound annual growth rate of 4.6%. The lowest value was recorded in 2018 at 19 664 thousand US dollars, which also experienced the largest decline of 8.1%.

Aubergine exports from the Caribbean declined for the third consecutive year. In 2020, the region exported 2 697 tonnes of aubergines, representing a 49.0% decrease compared to 2019. Between 2017 and 2020, exports fell by 65.8%, equating to an annualized decline rate of 30.0%.

From 2017 to 2020, Canada, the United States, and France were the main markets for aubergine exports in volume terms. Canada accounted for 51.9% of exports, the United States for 24.2%, and France for 6.5%. Together, these three countries represented 82.5% of total export flows.

Foreign aubergine supplies from the Caribbean declined for the third consecutive year. In 2020, exports stood at 2 217 thousand US dollars, showing a steep decline of 34.8% compared to the previous year. Between 2017 and 2020, exports decreased by 62.2%, with an annualized decline rate of 27.7%.

Throughout 2017 to 2020, Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom remained the primary markets for aubergine exports in value terms from the Caribbean.
