From 2018 to 2020, the apricot market in Lebanon remained stable, with annual volume consistently between 32 000 and 33 000 tons. Production saw a modest rise to 36 518 tons in 2020, while export volumes increased significantly during this period.

A sharp decline occurred in 2021, as the market volume nearly halved to 17 292 tons, with production falling to 19 130 tons. This lower level persisted through 2022 and 2023, with market volume stabilizing around 17 300 to 17 700 tons annually.

In 2024, the agricultural sector confronted a severe economic crisis with inflation reaching 171.2%, soaring costs for key farming inputs, and the spillover of regional conflict which destroyed farms in southern Lebanon, disrupting production and supply chains.

Lebanon's apricot production increased for the second consecutive year. In 2020, the country produced 36 518 tonnes of apricots, marking a 10.6% rise from 2019. The lowest production was recorded in 2018 at 32 748 tonnes, which also saw the largest decline of 11.6%.

Between 2017 and 2020, Egypt, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia were the main destinations for Lebanon's apricot exports in volume terms. Egypt accounted for 26.4% of exports, Kuwait for 22.3%, and Saudi Arabia for 17.7%, together making up 66.4% of total export flows.
