Domestic production mirrored this pattern, rising from 809 thousand tonnes to 1 028 thousand tonnes, which served as the main engine for market growth. Trade flows remained secondary in volume, with imports peaking at 75 thousand tonnes in 2024 and exports reaching 47 thousand tonnes the same year, indicating shifting external balances.

Over the entire 2017-2020 period, production grew by 2.2%, which translates to an average annual growth rate of 0.7%.

Apricot exports from the CIS showed considerable volatility between 2017 and 2020. The highest export volume was recorded in 2017, while the lowest occurred in 2020, with a 2.8-fold difference between these years. In 2020, cross-border shipments totaled 6,360 tons, representing a sharp 52.5% decrease compared to 2019. The most significant decline took place in 2018 at 58.4%, whereas exports rebounded strongly in 2019 with an 81.7% increase.

From 2017 to 2020, Ukraine consistently served as the primary destination for apricot exports from the CIS in volume terms, accounting for 1.9% of total exports.

Apricot imports into the CIS experienced a downward trend from 2017 to 2020, decreasing by 23.4% overall, which corresponds to an average annual decline of 8.5%. In 2020, imports totaled 6,360 tons, reflecting a substantial 21.5% contraction compared to 2019. The only notable increase during this period was recorded in 2019, with a modest 1.2% rise.

Between 2017 and 2020, Turkey, Serbia, and China were among the largest suppliers of apricots to the CIS in volume terms, contributing 27.2%, 1.5%, and 0.8% of imports, respectively.
