Armenia's apricot market volume contracted sharply between 2018 and 2020, falling from 97 thousand tonnes to 48 thousand tonnes. This decline was primarily due to a steep drop in domestic production, which decreased from 104 thousand tonnes to 53 thousand tonnes over the same two-year period.

A pronounced recovery began in 2021, with the market expanding to 82 thousand tonnes and growing further to reach 109 thousand tonnes by 2023. Domestic production drove this rebound, increasing to 115 thousand tonnes in 2023, while export volumes remained stable at approximately 5 to 6 thousand tonnes per year.

Armenia's apricot production declined for the second year in a row. In 2020, the country produced 53.2 thousand tons of apricots, marking a 21.9% decrease compared to 2019. Over the 2017-2020 period, production fell by 39.1%, with an average annual decline of 15.2%. The highest production level was recorded in 2018 at 104.0 thousand tons, which represented a 19.1% increase from the previous year. The largest drop occurred in 2019, with a 34.5% decrease.
