Earlier Report Observations

The Ukrainian fresh apple market volume declined from approximately 1.4 million tons in 2018 to around 1.1 million tons in 2023. This overall decrease was characterized by considerable year-to-year volatility, with the most significant contraction occurring in 2019 when the market size fell by over 20%.

Following a period of relative stability in 2020, the market recovered to 1.3 million tons in 2021. This growth was reversed in 2022, with volume dropping back to 1.1 million tons, before a modest increase was recorded in 2023. Domestic production trends were the primary driver of these market movements, while imports and exports remained negligible relative to the total market size.
