From 2018 through 2022, the Tunisian market for wood in the rough showed remarkable stability, with market volume holding steady at approximately 2 545 thousand tons each year. A minor dip to 2 544 thousand tons in 2022 did not alter the overall flat trend, as domestic production consistently supplied nearly the entire market volume.

A sharp contraction occurred in 2023, when the market volume fell to 1 968 thousand tons. This represented a decline of over 22% compared to 2022, driven entirely by a corresponding drop in domestic production from its previous level of 2 544 thousand tons.
