Market volume rebounded sharply to 246 thousand tonnes in 2022. This surge was driven by technological advancements and new product launches in the nickel-chromium alloy wire segment, alongside growing industrial interest in advanced winding techniques like orthocyclic winding and improved insulated wires. Supportive European and national regulations focusing on energy efficiency and product quality further aided this expansion.

After the 2022 peak, market volume contracted to 233.8 thousand tonnes in 2023 and fell more substantially to 188.1 thousand tonnes in 2024.
