The wheat bran market in Solomon Islands showed a clear shift from moderate contraction to robust growth between 2018 and 2023. Market volume, equivalent to domestic production, declined from 3 532 t in 2018 to 3 354 t in 2020.
A sustained recovery phase began in 2021, with output rising to 3 880 t, which marked a 15.7% annual increase. This upward trend strengthened significantly the following year, as production grew by 19.8% to reach 4 650 t in 2022. Growth continued in 2023, though at a slower rate of 5.7%, bringing the total market volume to 4 913 t.
Over the entire five-year period, the market expanded by 1 381 t, representing a cumulative growth of 39.1% from the 2018 base.
