Earlier Report Observations

The market volume for wheat bran, sharps and residues in Northern Europe experienced significant fluctuations between 2018 and 2023. After peaking at 1 902 thousand tons in 2018, consumption fell sharply to 1 654 thousand tons in 2019, a drop of over 13%. The market then gradually recovered, reaching 1 830 thousand tons by 2022, before stabilizing at 1 814 thousand tons in 2023.

This trajectory was shaped by changes in domestic production and net trade. Production declined from 1 429 thousand tons in 2018 to 1 268 thousand tons in 2021, before partially rebounding to 1 324 thousand tons in 2023.
