In 2020, the market contracted to 28 873 t as climatic pressures persisted and imports plummeted to 230 t.

Market volume recovered to 30 818 t in 2021, aided by marketing mechanisms for locally produced wheat between growers and millers, alongside continued wheat imports meeting 79% of domestic needs. However, in 2022, the market fell to 27 376 t even as wheat production in the agronomic sector rose and prices improved. A sharp rebound followed in 2023, with the market reaching 36 625 t, the highest level in the period.
