Walnut exports from Romania increased for the second consecutive year. In 2020, the country exported 5 331 tons of walnuts, representing an 8.3% uptick compared to the previous year. During 2017-2020, France, the Netherlands, and Germany were significant buyers of walnuts from Romania, accounting for 17.7%, 14.2%, and 13.4% of exports in kind, respectively. Between 2017 and 2020, however, exports decreased by 15.1%, equating to an annualized rate of 5.3%. The lowest value was recorded in 2019 at 25 749 thousand US dollars, which also saw the largest decline of 13.4%.
