A moderate recovery followed, with the market reaching 1 028 t in 2021 and 1 072 t in 2022, before a sharp decline to 926 t in 2023.

Import volumes were a key driver of market movements, rising from 274 t in 2018 to 308 t in 2022 before dropping to 229 t in 2023. This import reduction substantially contributed to the overall market contraction in the final year. Between 2017 and 2020, Saint Lucia, Bunkers, and Barbados remained the top buyers of unroasted, non-decaffeinated coffee from Trinidad and Tobago. Saint Lucia accounted for 34.1% of exports in volume, Bunkers for 21.9%, and Barbados for 17.8%. Together, these three markets made up 73.9% of total export volumes.
