The market volume for unroasted, not decaffeinated coffee in Jamaica contracted from 6 782 t in 2018 to 5 740 t in 2020, before entering a sustained recovery phase that lifted volume to 7 770 t by 2023. In value terms, the market followed a similar path, declining to $151.8 million in 2020 before climbing to $250.1 million in 2023.

The market's strong growth in 2023 was driven by a notable expansion in the coffee sector, where production volumes eclipsed previous years and exports surged by nearly one-third. This increased sector activity directly contributed to the higher domestic availability and consumption of unroasted coffee.
