In 2018, the Belgian uncooked pasta market volume stood at 14 817 t, but fell to 10 277 t in 2019. It recovered to 11 591 t in 2020, boosted by a surge in demand for staple foods like pasta as consumers stocked up during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Growth continued in 2021, reaching 15 567 t, supported by product innovation such as Nestlé's launch of healthier noodle varieties and the strong market presence of local manufacturer Soubry. In 2022, market volume jumped sharply to 26 008 t. This rise occurred alongside a shift in consumer preferences towards wholemeal pasta and the introduction of premium bronze-cut lines by Barilla, even as pasta prices increased 10–20% due to higher durum wheat costs following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

In 2023, the market contracted to 18 542 t amid persistent inflation and continued price increases for pasta, which dampened consumer purchasing power.
