From 2018 to 2020, the turkey meat and offal market in Northern Africa grew from 238 thousand tons to 260 thousand tons. This expansion was driven by Morocco's strategic reinforcement of its poultry sector as a vital agricultural industry, which included continuous investment in approved slaughterhouses, packaging plants, and meat processing facilities. By 2020, the country achieved full self-sufficiency in poultry meat and eggs, supported by a broader growth trend in African poultry production that outpaced the global average.

Market volume stabilized at 258 thousand tons in 2021, a period marked by the organization of the Dawajine Salon, a major industry event fostering partnerships for modern poultry farming. The following year, consumption increased to 261 thousand tons despite significant pressure from rising international feed prices, which elevated production costs and consumer prices for turkey meat.

In 2023, the market surged to 284 thousand tons. This growth was underpinned by the sustained effect of earlier infrastructure investments and the sector's entrenched self-sufficiency, which kept imports negligible. Domestic production capacity, built up over the preceding years, continued to expand, meeting robust local demand.

Turkey meat and offal production in Northern Africa has grown for the third year in a row. In 2019, production stood at 248.8 thousand tons, rising to 261.5 thousand tons in 2020—a 5.1% increase. Over the 2017–2020 period, production expanded by 15.6%, with an average annual growth rate of 4.9%.

The value of turkey meat and offal production in Northern Africa has fallen for the second consecutive year. In 2020, output was valued at 243.6 million US dollars, down 4.6% from the previous year. Between 2017 and 2020, production value increased by 6.9%, equivalent to an annualized rate of 2.2%. The highest value was recorded in 2018 at 278.8 million US dollars, with the largest annual increase of 22.4% that same year. The most significant decline occurred in 2019, dropping by 8.4%.

After two years of growth, turkey meat and offal exports from Northern Africa declined. In 2020, exports totaled 1 806 tons, a 26.7% decrease from the previous year. Over the 2017–2020 period, exports fell by 8.4%, with an average annual decline of 2.9%. The peak was in 2019 at 2 463 tons, which also saw the largest annual increase of 18.8%.

From 2017 to 2020, Liberia, Benin, and Guinea were the key destinations for turkey meat and offal exports from Northern Africa, accounting for 61.4% of total volume. Liberia led with 29.7%, followed by Benin at 16.6% and Guinea at 15.2%.
