The market for vulcanized rubber tubes, pipes and hoses in Bosnia and Herzegovina experienced fluctuations in volume between 2021 and 2024. After declining from 712 t in 2021 to 508 t in 2023, market size recovered to 739 t in 2024. This recovery coincided with the onset of domestic production, which reached 320 t in 2024 following minimal output in 2023.

Imports of these goods increased steadily throughout the period, rising from 767 t in 2018 to 1 222 t in 2025. Exports also grew significantly, particularly from 2022 onward, reaching 654 t in 2025. The combination of rising imports and exports points to active trade dynamics within the sector.

The launch of local production in 2023-2024 altered the market structure by reducing net import dependency and expanding total supply. Despite the growth in exports, the market continued to rely on imported goods to meet domestic demand.

In 2021, the country shipped 128.5 tonnes of these products abroad, marking a 16.8% increase compared to the previous year. The lowest export volume was recorded in 2019 at 98.2 tonnes, which represented a significant decline of 23.6%.

From 2018 to 2021, Serbia, Montenegro, and Germany were consistently the top destinations for Bosnia and Herzegovina's exports of tubes, pipes, and hoses made from vulcanized rubber. Serbia accounted for 24.7% of exports in kind, Montenegro for 21.9%, and Germany for 17.9%. Together, these three countries made up 64.5% of total export flows during this period.

In 2021, exports reached 1 602 thousand US dollars, up 15.4% from the previous year. Over the 2018-2021 period, exports grew by 15.6%, with a compound annual growth rate of 5.0%. The lowest value was recorded in 2019 at 909 thousand US dollars, which saw the largest decline of 34.4%. In contrast, 2020 experienced the biggest increase, with exports jumping 52.8% to a peak of 8 710 thousand US dollars.

Between 2018 and 2021, Germany, Serbia, and Poland remained the primary buyers of tubes, pipes, and hoses made from vulcanized rubber from Bosnia and Herzegovina in terms of value. Germany led with 28.6% of exports in value terms, followed by Serbia at 22.1%, and Poland at 16.3%. Collectively, these three markets accounted for 66.9% of total export value during this timeframe.
