Triticale production in Serbia began the period at 113.4 тыс. т in 2018, while the country was engaged in harmonizing its agricultural regulations with European Union law. Output then decreased to 102.2 тыс. т in 2019 before rising markedly to 126.4 тыс. т in 2020.

After the 2020 peak, production stabilized at 125.8 тыс. т in 2021, then dropped to 96.9 тыс. т in 2022. A recovery followed in 2023, with output reaching 111.2 тыс. т, coinciding with increased farmer interest in triticale as an alternative crop for acidic and less fertile soils.

The year 2024 saw the adoption of the Law on Incentives in Agriculture and Rural Development, which introduced refunds for certified seeds, and a rise in inflation that affected food prices and agricultural costs.
