Between 2017 and 2020, exports increased by 3.3%, equating to an annualized rate of 1.1%. The maximum volume was recorded in 2018 at 522.1 K t, which also saw the largest increase of 31.6%. The largest decline occurred in 2019, at 14.4%.

From 2017 to 2020, the geographical structure of exports in kind was highly diversified. Norway accounted for 22.1% of exports in kind, Italy for 7.1%, and Poland for 5.8%, together representing only 35.0% of total flows. The remaining 65.0% was distributed among numerous smaller partner countries.
