Stainless household articles market in Croatia

The physical volume of Croatia's stainless steel household articles market showed considerable variability from 2018 to 2024. After a minor contraction in 2019, market volume jumped by more than 300 tons to reach 2.1 thousand tons in 2020. This was followed by a two-year downturn, bringing the market to a low of 1.6 thousand tons in 2022. A recovery then took hold, with volume climbing to 1.9 thousand tons in 2023 and surpassing 2.2 thousand tons in 2024.

In value terms, the market followed a distinct path. The total market value declined from 15.3 million dollars in 2018 to 13.4 million dollars in 2020. A sustained upward trend began in 2021, pushing the value to 14.7 million dollars that year, then to 16.7 million dollars in 2022, and sharply up to 20.3 million dollars in 2023. The value stabilized at a similar high level of 20.6 million dollars in 2024.

Throughout this period, imports dominated supply, accounting for over 95% of the market volume in most years. Domestic production remained modest, fluctuating between 62 and 98 tons annually. Croatian exports of these goods increased, rising from 65 tons in 2018 to 117 tons in 2024, indicating growing external sales activity.

Over the 2017-2020 period, exports grew by 31.6%, with a compound annual growth rate of 9.6%. The lowest value was in 2018 at 702 K $ US, which also experienced the largest decline of 0.9%.
