The market for sheep and goat meat in Antigua and Barbuda displayed pronounced volatility between 2018 and 2023. Volume peaked at 227 tons in 2019 before contracting sharply to 136 tons in 2020, then rebounded to 195 tons in 2021. A subsequent dip to 166 tons occurred in 2022, followed by a recovery to 199.5 tons in 2023.

Throughout this period, domestic production remained a minor component, fluctuating between 7.3 and 15 tons annually. Consequently, market volume was almost entirely dictated by import flows, which mirrored its oscillations—from a high of 213.6 tons in 2019 down to 121.3 tons in 2020, then rising again in the following years.
