Concurrently, policy efforts in Nigeria continued to focus on improving seed quality and distribution under frameworks like the National Seed Road Map.

In 2024, market dynamics were shaped by Kenya Seed Company lowering seed prices to enhance food security, a move aimed at improving access for small-scale farmers. The lowest production level was recorded in 2018 at 22 288 tonnes. That same year saw the largest decrease in production, with a drop of 5.2%. In contrast, 2019 experienced the most significant increase, with production rising by 5.4%.
