The Czech market for rigid plastic polypropylene tubes and pipes experienced significant fluctuations between 2018 and 2024. Starting at 18 025 tonnes in 2018, consumption dipped the following year before beginning a volatile upward trajectory that peaked at 27 282 tonnes in 2023.

Two major growth phases defined the period: a sharp 31% increase in market volume to 23 042 tonnes in 2021, followed by an even larger 40% surge to 27 282 tonnes in 2023. The market contracted moderately in 2022 and again in 2024, settling at 25 842 tonnes, which still represented a 43% overall expansion compared to the 2018 level.

Czechia's production of rigid plastic tubes, pipes and hoses made from polypropylene (PP) has grown for the second year in a row. In 2021, the output was valued at 79 403 thousand US dollars, representing a significant 35.2% increase compared to 2020. Looking at the period from 2018 to 2021, production rose by 26.1%, with an average annual growth rate of 8.1%. The lowest production value was recorded in 2019 at 56 008 thousand US dollars, which also saw the largest decline of 11.0% during this timeframe.

In 2021, the country produced 26 701 tonnes, marking a 21.4% gain over the previous year. From 2018 to 2021, production grew by 31.1%, with a compound annual growth rate of 9.4%. The lowest output was in 2019 at 19 621 tonnes, which also experienced the largest decline of 3.7% during this period.

Czechia's exports of rigid plastic tubes, pipes and hoses made from polypropylene (PP) have risen for the second year in a row. In 2021, exports reached 13 286 tonnes, which is 5.4% higher than in 2020. Over the period from 2018 to 2021, exports increased by 13.7%, with an average annual growth rate of 4.4%. The lowest export volume was recorded in 2019 at 11 559 tonnes, which saw a decline of 1.1%. In contrast, the largest increase occurred in 2020 with a 9.0% rise.

From 2018 to 2021, Russia, Poland, and Slovakia were the core destinations for Czechia's exports of rigid plastic tubes, pipes and hoses in kind. Russia accounted for 21.6% of exports, Poland for 15.3%, and Slovakia for 14.5%. Together, these three countries represented 51.4% of total export flows during this period.

The lowest import volume was recorded in 2020 at 8 124 tonnes, while the largest decline occurred in 2019 with a 7.6% drop.

From 2018 to 2021, Germany, Poland, and Slovakia formed the core of Czechia's imports of rigid plastic tubes, pipes and hoses in kind. Germany was the largest supplier with 41.9% of imports, followed by Poland at 33.1%, and Slovakia at 8.9%. Together, these three countries represented 83.9% of total import flows.
