The Croatian market for rigid PP tubes, pipes, and hoses expanded significantly in physical terms from 6 061 t in 2018 to a peak of 8 640 t in 2022. The most notable growth occurred in 2020 when market volume jumped by 26% to 8 154 t, followed by a period of stabilization. However, in 2023 the market contracted sharply by 39% to 5 278 t, before edging up slightly to 5 476 t in 2024.

Domestic production rose gradually from 9 737 t in 2018 to over 10 300 t in 2021-2022, but then fell to 7 413 t in 2023. Imports more than doubled between 2018 and 2021 to nearly 4 000 t, before declining in the latter years. Export volumes remained relatively stable around 5 000-5 500 t until 2023, then increased by 23% in 2024 to 6 135 t.

In value terms, the market displayed a similar pattern but with greater volatility. After a dip in 2019 to 12.8 million US dollars, market value soared to 22.3 million in 2021, then eased slightly. The 2023 contraction in value was less severe than in volume, falling 28% to 16.0 million dollars.

From 2017 to 2020, Italy, Austria, and Bosnia and Herzegovina were the top buyers of Croatia's rigid plastic tubes, pipes, and hoses made from polypropylene (PP) in terms of volume. Italy accounted for 31.6% of exports, Austria for 27.4%, and Bosnia and Herzegovina for 15.1%. Together, these three countries represented 74.1% of Croatia's total export volume during this period.
