Quinces production in Northern Africa began the period at 75 414 t in 2018, then experienced a significant contraction to 56 469 t the following year. The market rebounded strongly in 2020, with output rising to 73 328 t, mirroring the recovery in market volume which reached over 73 000 t that year.

From 2021 onward, production entered a sustained downward trend, falling to 58 416 t by 2023. The market contraction coincided with widespread inflationary pressures from 2022, which altered consumer buying behavior by favoring more affordable food alternatives and reinforcing a shift toward locally sourced and organic produce, impacting demand for fresh quinces.

In 2019, Northern Africa's quince production reached its lowest point at 56 469 tonnes. Production then rebounded in 2020 to 73 328 tonnes, marking a 29.9% increase from the previous year. Over the 2017-2020 period, production grew by 19.4%, with a compound annual growth rate of 6.1%. The highest production level was recorded in 2018 at 75 414 tonnes, while the most significant decline occurred in 2019 with a 25.1% drop.
