Export volumes fluctuated sharply during this period, with a notable drop to 35 thousand tonnes in 2019 increasing domestic availability, followed by a strong recovery to 350 thousand tonnes in 2020 that tightened local supply. By 2024, the market environment included intensified inspections of small slaughterhouses and fresh poultry retailers by livestock authorities to ensure quality, alongside widespread adoption of digital sales technologies such as POS systems and online promotion by vendors.

Underlying these movements were sustained consumer interest in lean poultry meat for health reasons and Thailand's established role as a major global exporter, particularly of processed chicken to Japan and the European Union. Companies like Pin Hang Heng Co., Ltd. continued to operate as key participants in the domestic slaughter and chilled meat segment.
