The poultry meat and offal market in Central Asia grew steadily in volume from 888 thousand tons in 2018 to 1,423 thousand tons in 2023. This expansion was primarily driven by continuous increases in livestock and poultry numbers, which boosted domestic meat production. The adoption of new technologies in animal husbandry and farming, particularly from 2019 onward, further enhanced productivity and supported output growth.

Government initiatives reinforced this trend. The implementation of the 'Digital Kyrgyzstan 2019-2023' concept improved business and trade opportunities in the regions, positively impacting the agricultural sector. Subsequent state efforts focused on raising animal productivity and strengthening food security, which created favorable conditions for sustained market development through 2023.

While market volume rose consistently, its value in monetary terms experienced fluctuations, including declines in 2020 and 2023. Regional trade dynamics also played a role, with significant growth in poultry exports from Russia—driven by Chinese demand—beginning to influence Central Asian market patterns from 2024.

From 2017 to 2020, Russia, Georgia, and the United States were the primary buyers of poultry meat and offal from Central Asia, accounting for 64.6% of total exports in volume. Russia led with 63.3% of exports, followed by Georgia at 0.7% and the United States at 0.6%.
