From 2018 to 2021, the Slovenian market for plastic doors, windows and frames experienced notable shifts in both volume and value. For 2022-2024, import volumes were 286.4 тыс. единиц, 298.3 тыс. единиц, and 154.6 тыс. единиц respectively. Exports in volume also varied, from 97.1 тыс. единиц in 2018 to 110.2 тыс. единиц in 2019, 109.1 тыс. единиц in 2020, 163.0 тыс. единиц in 2021, and then 159.9 тыс. единиц, 155.9 тыс. единиц, and 135.5 тыс. единиц in the following years.

Domestic production in volume terms followed a similar volatile path, peaking at 496.6 тыс. единиц in 2020 after growth from 433.6 тыс. единиц in 2018, but then falling sharply to 317.1 тыс. единиц in 2021. In value terms, production increased from 95.7 млн долл. in 2018 to 112.9 млн долл. in 2020, before easing to 109.8 млн долл. in 2021. The disparity between volume and value movements suggests changes in product mix or pricing over the period.

In 2020, the output was valued at 112.9 million US dollars, marking a solid 16.8% increase from 2019. Slovenia's production volume of plastic doors, windows, and frames has risen for the third year in a row. In 2020, 496.6 thousand units were produced, showing a modest 3.6% increase compared to the previous year. From 2017 to 2020, production increased by 22.7%, with a compound annual growth rate of 7.0%.

In 2020, Slovenia exported 109.1 thousand units of plastic doors, windows, and frames, reflecting a small decline of 1.0% from the previous year. The largest decline occurred in 2018, with a drop of 19.3%, while the largest increase was in 2019, with a rise of 13.4%.

From 2017 to 2020, Germany, Austria, and Italy remained the top buyers of plastic doors, windows, and frames from Slovenia. Germany accounted for 45.2% of exports in kind, Austria for 30.6%, and Italy for 8.8%. Together, these three countries represented 84.6% of total exports in kind.
