In 2023, the region's high pork consumption and the nutritional value of offal as a source of zinc and iron sustained demand, while processed options like frozen and canned offal gained traction due to convenience and longer shelf life.

Demand for pig offal remained strong in 2024, with import volumes surging to 70.3 thousand tons. This growth was supported by improved processing and packaging—such as frozen and vacuum-packed products—that extend shelf life and facilitate long-distance exports, aligning with consumer preferences for convenience and quality.
