The market volume for fresh peas in Lebanon reached its highest point in 2019 at 10 531 t, an 8% increase from the previous year. After this peak, the market contracted over the next two years, falling to 9 969 t in 2021, before stabilizing around 10 100 t in 2022 and 2023. Domestic production mirrored this pattern, peaking at 10 254 t in 2019 and remaining within a narrow range of 10 050 to 10 150 t thereafter.

Imports, which surged to 303 t in 2019, dropped sharply in subsequent years, contributing to the market's fluctuations. By 2024, import volumes remained low at 12 t, while exports were 15 t. During this period, the market faced significant economic headwinds, including high inflation and currency depreciation, which increased production and import costs.
