The fresh pear market in Peru grew significantly in 2019, with volume reaching 25 870 t due to a surge in imports. This was followed by a gradual decline over the next four years, with the market contracting to 21 323 t by 2023.

Domestic production showed volatility, falling from 4 541 t in 2018 to 3 956 t in 2020 before recovering to 4 781 t in 2023. Imports, which constitute the bulk of supply, peaked at 21 781 t in 2019 and then trended downward, dropping to 16 542 t in 2023. Import volumes in 2024 indicated a slight rebound to 17 525 t.

Peru's pear production has declined for the second year in a row. In 2020, the country produced 3 956 tons of pears, marking a 3.2% decrease from 2019. Over the 2017-2020 period, production fell by 7.3%, with a compound annual growth rate of 2.5%. The highest production level was in 2018 at 4 541 tons, which saw a 6.4% increase. The largest drop occurred in 2019 with a 10.0% decline.

The lowest value was recorded in 2018 at 16 331 thousand US dollars, which saw a 12.1% decline. The largest increase occurred in 2019 with a 13.6% rise.
