The market volume for fresh peaches and nectarines in Middle Africa contracted over the 2018-2021 period, falling from 1 190 tonnes in 2018 to a low of 1 099 tonnes in 2021. This downward trend reversed in the following two years, with the market expanding to 1 112 tonnes in 2022 and reaching 1 169 tonnes in 2023.

Domestic production followed a gradual upward path from 1 006 tonnes in 2018 to 1 052 tonnes in 2020, then stabilised around 1 037-1 039 tonnes in 2022-2023. Imports dropped sharply from 184 tonnes in 2018 to 61 tonnes in 2020, reducing overall supply. Import volumes later recovered to 130 tonnes in 2023, contributing to the market's rebound.
