Market volume grew from 418 thousand m³ in 2018 to a high of 500 thousand m³ in 2019, an increase of nearly 20%. This expansion was followed by a consistent four-year contraction, with the market shrinking to 201 thousand m³ by 2023, which represents a decline of 60% from the peak.

The market's downturn was characterized by a severe drop in imports, which fell by 68% from 387 thousand m³ in 2019 to 124 thousand m³ in 2023. Domestic production also decreased over this period, but more gradually, falling by 23% from 114 thousand m³ to 88 thousand m³. The overall reduction in supply led the market to less than half its former size by the end of the period.
