Following the 2019 surge, output stabilized and continued on a path of moderate expansion. Production reached 91 838 t in 2021 and grew further to 94 225 t by 2023, driving the overall market volume from 85 300 t in 2020 to 94 755 t at the end of the period.

In 2019, Malawi's orange production reached its peak at 85 521 tonnes. However, in 2020, production declined slightly to 84 714 tonnes, representing a 0.9% decrease compared to the previous year. The lowest production level was recorded in 2018 at 58 453 tonnes. Over the period from 2017 to 2020, production increased by 8.7%, which translates to an average annual growth rate of 2.8%. The most significant decline occurred in 2018, with a 25.0% drop, while the largest increase was observed in 2019, with a substantial 46.3% rise.
