The orange market volume in Brunei Darussalam more than doubled from 2018 to 2023, rising from 1 933 t to 3 908 t. This expansion was entirely fueled by a sustained increase in imports, which grew from 1 473 t to 3 449 t over the period, while domestic production remained stable at around 460 t annually.

After a slight contraction to 2 541 t in 2021, the market rebounded sharply to 3 771 t in 2022 and reached 3 908 t in 2023. Exports were minimal throughout, indicating that nearly all imported and domestically produced oranges were consumed within the country.

In 2024, the Bruneian government's strategic plan for agriculture highlighted efforts to commercialize fruit farming in the Belait District, aiming to enhance domestic production and reduce import reliance in the long term, though the plan is not specific to oranges.
