The oat market in Slovenia experienced considerable fluctuations between 2018 and 2023. Market volume grew by 31% to 6 401 t in 2019, but then entered a downward trend, falling to 3 792 t by 2023 — a 23% drop from the peak.

These movements were driven by changes in domestic production, which varied from 2 510 t to 4 120 t, and shifts in foreign trade. Notably, a surge in exports to 1 013 t in 2021 reduced domestic availability, while import levels also oscillated, influencing overall supply.
