From 2020 onward, the market contracted sharply, falling to 35 563 kg in 2020 and further to 33 528 kg by 2022. The decline was almost entirely due to a collapse in imported volumes, which dropped to 1 784 kg in 2020 and remained below 500 kg through 2023. Local production held steady between 34 500 kg and 34 700 kg throughout this period.

A modest recovery occurred in 2023, with the market volume rising to 34 840 kg as imports ticked up to 436 kg. The overall market from 2018 to 2023 was thus characterized by initial growth followed by a prolonged import-driven contraction and a recent slight rebound.
