The market for frozen vegetables excluding potatoes, legumes and maize in Saint Lucia showed considerable movement between 2018 and 2023. Volume peaked at 328.7 tons in 2020 before contracting sharply to 136.4 tons in 2021, a reduction of more than half.

This steep decline coincided with a major drop in imports, which fell from 265.8 tons in 2020 to 92.4 tons in 2021. Domestic production also decreased in 2021, falling to 44.0 tons from 63.1 tons the previous year. Imports partially recovered in 2022 and 2023 but stayed significantly below their pre-2021 levels.

Following the 2021 contraction, the total market volume stabilized in a new range of 154 to 156 tons. Domestic production fluctuated during this period, indicating variable local output, while the market continued to rely heavily on imported supply.

In 2020, the country produced 63 080 kg, marking a 9.6% rise compared to 2019. Over the 2017-2020 period, production grew by 12.7%, with a compound annual growth rate of 4.1%. The lowest production level was recorded in 2018 at 49 250 kg, which also saw the largest decline of 12.0%. In contrast, 2019 experienced the largest increase at 16.9%.
