The market volume for not roasted and not cooked groundnuts in Saudi Arabia experienced significant fluctuations between 2018 and 2023. After starting at 8 532 tons in 2018, it fell sharply to 6 085 tons in 2019, largely due to a drop in imports. The market rebounded to 8 315 tons in 2020 and then stabilized around 8 400–8 500 tons in 2021 and 2022, before declining again to 7 411 tons in 2023.

Domestic production remained relatively steady, decreasing gradually from 2 018 tons in 2019 to 1 910 tons by 2023. The market's volatility was primarily driven by import swings, with the sharp drop in 2019 followed by a rapid recovery in 2020. The latter years saw modest growth before another contraction in 2023.

In 2024, imports surged to 11 054 tons, reflecting a near-doubling from the previous year. This increase aligns with several market developments, including government support for organic agriculture, the launch of new healthy peanut butter lines by major companies, expansion of local processing facilities, and rising consumer demand for high-quality nuts, all of which likely boosted demand for raw groundnuts.

Saudi Arabia's production of not roasted and not cooked groundnuts increased for the second consecutive year. In 2020, the country produced 2,036 tonnes, marking a slight rise of 0.9% compared to the previous year. The lowest production volume was recorded in 2018 at 1,989 tonnes, which also saw the largest decline of 3.6%. In contrast, 2019 experienced the largest increase of 1.5%.

Saudi Arabia's exports of not roasted and not cooked groundnuts grew for the third year in a row. In 2020, exports reached 309 tonnes, representing a sharp increase of 42.2% from the year before. From 2017 to 2020, exports surged by 228.9%, translating to an annualized growth rate of 48.7%.

Between 2017 and 2020, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Yemen were the primary destinations for Saudi Arabia's exports of not roasted and not cooked groundnuts. The UAE accounted for 40.5% of exports in kind, Bahrain for 14.0%, and Yemen for 13.4%. Together, these three countries made up 67.9% of total export flows.

From 2017 to 2020, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Yemen remained the top destinations in terms of export value for Saudi Arabia's not roasted and not cooked groundnuts. The UAE contributed 37.8% of exports in value terms, Bahrain 19.1%, and Yemen 13.3%. Collectively, these three countries represented 70.2% of total export flows.

The lowest import volume was recorded in 2019 at 4,283 tonnes, which also saw the largest drop of 36.4%.

During 2017–2020, China, India, and Argentina were the main suppliers of not roasted and not cooked groundnuts to Saudi Arabia. China accounted for 51.3% of imports in kind, India for 22.6%, and Argentina for 8.6%. Together, these three countries supplied 82.4% of total imports in kind.
