The market volume for not in shell eggs and egg yolks in Czechia declined significantly over the period from 2018 to 2023. Starting at 11 613 tonnes in 2018, it fell to 7 635 tonnes by 2023, representing a drop of over 34%. The decrease was gradual in the initial years but accelerated sharply after 2020.

The most pronounced contraction occurred in 2021, when the market size dropped by nearly 16% to 9 396 tonnes. This coincided with a steep fall in domestic production, which plummeted from 2 817 tonnes in 2020 to just 413 tonnes in 2021. While imports remained relatively stable, growing exports further reduced the volume available for domestic consumption.

By 2023, the market had shrunk to 7 635 tonnes, its lowest point in the observed period. The consistent growth in exports, which reached 4 038 tonnes in 2023, outpaced the stable import levels, contributing to the net reduction in domestic supply.

From 2017 to 2020, exports decreased by 8.8%, equating to an annualized rate of 3.0%. The lowest value was recorded in 2018 at 2 426 tonnes, which also experienced the largest decline of 24.4%. In contrast, the largest increase occurred in 2019 at 13.2%.

From 2017 to 2020, Slovakia was the leading destination for Czechia's exports of not-in-shell eggs and egg yolks in kind, accounting for 83.4% of total flows, with the remainder distributed among other partners.
