After the peak, the market contracted by more than half to 3 141 t in 2020 and continued to decline, falling to 2 300 t in 2022. This reflected a broad reduction in both import supplies and domestic output over the period.

A partial recovery occurred in 2023, with the market growing to 2 611 t as production increased to 2 744 t.
