In 2024, exports of dried vegetables decreased to 41.0 thousand tonnes. This decline coincided with regional trade restrictions, including Botswana's ban on imports of South African vegetables until December 2024, which affected market access. Imports remained steady at 19.8 thousand tonnes, while broader South African agricultural exports achieved a record value, underscoring the importance of intra-African trade.
