Domestic production followed a similar pattern, increasing from 2.6 million tons in 2018 to over 3 million tons in 2023 and 2024. Imports more than doubled across the period, from 129 thousand tons to 248 thousand tons, while exports remained modest, growing from 15 thousand tons to 57 thousand tons. The expansion of imports contributed to the overall market supply, especially during years when production dipped.

In value terms, the market expanded significantly, from $54 million in 2018 to nearly $90 million in 2024. The most pronounced value growth occurred in 2023 and 2024, despite stable volumes, indicating a substantial increase in average prices or a shift toward higher-value products.
