Between 2018 and 2024, the Polish granite building stone market expanded significantly in physical volume. After stable consumption of around 2.6–2.7 million tonnes from 2018 to 2020, market size grew to 2.8 million tonnes in 2021, then surged to 3.3 million tonnes in 2022 and reached 4.8 million tonnes in 2024. Domestic production followed a similar path, more than doubling from 2.7 million tonnes in 2021 to 4.8 million tonnes in 2024.

The growth from 2022 onward was fueled by several factors. In 2022, robust construction sector demand was reflected in rising natural stone imports, while supply chain disruptions and material shortages encouraged greater domestic production. The market's value peaked at $97.4 million that year, influenced by inflationary price increases. By 2024, EU green transformation policies, including renovation wave initiatives and sustainability certification requirements under the EU taxonomy, created new demand for granite in construction. The activity of key domestic producers, such as Goeminerals in the Świętokrzyskie region, helped ensure supply stability, supporting the volume increase even as market value moderated to $88.8 million.

In 2020, Poland's granite building stone output was valued at 31 227 K $ US, marking a 1.1% increase from the previous year. Over the 2017-2020 period, production grew by 10%, with an average annual growth rate of 3.2%. The highest value was recorded in 2018 at 35 556 K $ US, which saw the largest increase of 25.3%. In contrast, 2019 experienced the largest decline of 13.1%.

In 2020, Poland produced 2 604 K t of granite building stone, reflecting a 1.1% rise compared to 2019. Between 2017 and 2020, production increased by 28.7%, equating to an annualized growth rate of 8.8%. The peak was in 2018 with 2 667 K t, which also saw the largest increase of 31.8%. The largest decline occurred in 2019, dropping by 3.4%.

Poland exported 130.7 K t of granite building stone in 2020, up by 5.3% from 2019. Over the 2017-2020 period, exports grew by 21.2%, with a compound annual growth rate of 6.6%. The maximum volume was recorded in 2018 at 133.4 K t, which experienced the largest increase of 23.7%. The largest decline was in 2019, falling by 7.0%.

From 2017 to 2020, Switzerland and Germany together accounted for 96.8% of Poland's total granite building stone exports in kind, with the remaining volume distributed among smaller markets.

Poland's granite building stone exports declined for the second consecutive year, reaching 14 004 K $ US in 2020, a 6.5% decrease year-over-year. Over the 2017-2020 period, exports increased by 13.9%, with an annualized growth rate of 4.4%. The highest value was in 2018 at 16 019 K $ US, which saw the largest increase of 30.3%. The largest decline also occurred in 2019, dropping by 6.5%.

Between 2017 and 2020, Switzerland and Germany dominated Poland's granite building stone exports in value terms, while other markets contributed to a smaller share.

The lowest volume was in 2018 at 142.3 K t, which experienced the largest decline of 34.2%. The largest increase occurred in 2019, rising by 20.0%.

From 2017 to 2020, the three largest markets for Poland's granite building stone imports in kind were South Africa, India, and the United Kingdom, collectively accounting for 74.8% of total imports.

Over the 2017-2020 period, imports increased by 7.9%, with an average annual growth rate of 2.6%. The minimum value was in 2018 at 38 750 K $ US, while the maximum was in 2019 at 44 678 K $ US, which also saw the largest increase of 15.3%.
