From 2018 to 2021, the market volume for non-coniferous wood fuel in Uzbekistan experienced significant fluctuations. Starting at 24 462 cubic meters in 2018, it dropped sharply to 13 133 cubic meters in 2019, then recovered to 18 375 cubic meters in 2020, before falling again to 13 124 cubic meters in 2021.

In the subsequent period, the market volume continued to decline moderately, reaching 12 249 cubic meters in 2022 and 11 946 cubic meters in 2023. The decrease in 2022 coincided with international sanctions and a reorientation of timber trade toward domestic markets, which likely constrained imports. By 2023, increased sawnwood production in Russia and Uzbekistan's role as a major importer of Russian minimally processed timber framed the supply-side context, even as local consumption edged lower.
